Parowan, Brian Head, Utah

Early Mormon settlers arrived here in 1851. You should see the numerous ancient writings on the rocks in Parowan Gap dating back many hundreds of years. From Brian Head you can identify dozens of features. This pic shows the long, dark ridgeline terminating with Signal Peak (10365 feet) and Burger Peak (45 miles away) in the Pine Valley mountains north of St. George. The parallel Hurricane Cliffs are 25 to 30 miles away. Notice the years ago fire damage losses in the greenery. A little of Cedar Breaks' orange sandstone is near on the right. If you always recognize your surroundings, you are never lost.
