Great climb.
This is one of my most memorable climb, whole experience was just fantastic, grat rock, great climb, nice little town bellow rock, just great time in Mexico.

Big rock
We walked up the trail to the end (to the capilla). To summit the next day it would have cost us 600 pesos each (didn't have any gear with us), my girlfriend wasn't to keen on it, so decided not to do it. Only did some rockclimbing on one of the walls, with some help of www.lapeniatours.com. The town is pretty too. Nice excursion.
I climbed this on New Years Day 2000 with 3 mexican friends I met at the base via "El Lado Oscuro de la Luna"-translated-The Dark Side of the Moon, a great 5 or 6 pitch bolted 5.9. What a way to ring in the new year!

Took the easy trail up to the halfway point than did some class III- IV scrambling up to around the two thirds point where I called it quits. I had left behind the raucous crowds and was able to enjoy the solidity of this peak in peace and quiet...
Had only one hour to get up and down so was quite happy with making it so high in 25 minutes.
