The N.W. summit of massif of Castillo Mayor is called Peña L'Ombre (1995m). It's a nice observatory of the peak and a very advisable climb. May 2009.

Peña L'Ombre

I thought it was the lone pinnacle that preceed the plateau of the castillo on the north ?

No.
It's the western summit (N.W. is most exactly). This peak appears in all the maps of Ordesa with name (even in the map of your page of SP). It's not a main summit but the views of the main (Castillo Mayor) is very exciting. It's very advisable to reach this summit in the descent to the main summit.
