Early morning delight
Overnight backpack to peaceful lake 9078. Next morning, a 6:30 am cold start, we gained the east ridge and navigated cornices to the summit. Spectacular, unusual views of the Sawtooths from the top. Right in front of us was magnificent Snowyside, and to its right, the Rakers beckoned. Ridgeline to McDonald Peak from here looked long and daunting. We were back in camp having coffee by 9:30 am.

Siege Climbing
I climbed peak 10027 with 14 other members of the Idaho Summits group on their annual spring outing. We climbed, skied and glissaded on a picture perfect day in the Sawtooth Range. Great scenery and company. Oh to live in Idaho!
