Peak 41 ("True Mera Peak") 6648m Peak 41, also known as "True Mera Peak", is located 8.5km N-NE of his famous lower neighbour also commonly known as Mera Peak (6476m), one of the most popular "trekking peaks" in Nepal. Depending on map sources, the altitude of Peak 41 is 6623m, 6648m or 6649m. Peak 41 has a prominence of approx. 850m. Its parent mountain is Ama Dablam. The first official ascent of Peak 41 was realised in October 2002 by a Slovenian party via the W Face / NW ridge, although there are rumours of unauthorised ascents by Swiss and Americans in previous years.
