Good winter hike(Almost) no snow on a crystal-clear, no-wind day in January. Wouldn't necessarily do this one solo due to its urban proximity ...

Trail runRan/hiked up via a variety of trails and 4X roads on the south side. Started from where McCarran crosses the Truckee river on the west side of town.

Peavine with snowFun, easy climb. There was up to 3 feet of firm snow, good for kicking steps. The views are fabulous.

Off-road ascentFun hike, and slightly amusing watching all of the bikes and trucks getting stuck in the snow during our descent.
Posted a trip report with same title.
