Boot track below shrund

Is that a boot track below shrund and does it lead to the direct face route?

Yep! They were going straight up from where the tracks end in the photo and then onto the ridge and to the summit. There is also one set of tracks (can barely see in photo) that go diagonally up, directly to the summit! A bit out of my league!!

Isn't that a major avalanche hazard?

I not an expert on the topic, but those boot tracks look like they pass through a dangerous section avalanche-wise. What keeps that ice/snow surface from releasing?
