Hummingbirds are hardWe have Anna's at home but I am not quick enough to photograph them. Last week we stopped at a restaurant on the North Santiam River that has a deck next to the river with feeders and baskets of flowers. Lots of Roufus hummingbirds but I got no acceptable pictures. I admire your skill.

Re: Hummingbirds are hardI wish it were really skill, so I could do it more often. Believe me, it is purely luck, and lots of wasted shots. Thank goodness for digital photography. :0)
I live in the mountains, and have three feeders out on my deck. I go through about 8 cups of food every couple of days. I love hummingbirds, and we have several varieties here.
Blessings!

I've just come across......this photo of yours once again, and I must say, I am speechless! Knowing meanwhile how difficult it is already to get a good capture of a Griffin vulture in flight, I absolutely admire you for this brilliant photo you took of that hummingbird!
All the best to you,
Eric

Re: I've just come across...Thanks Eric, I wish I could say that it was my great skill at photography that helped me get this shot, but I have to say it was pure luck (and taking many shots to get a few good ones.)
Have a great week!

Re: the rufusThank you so much!
I love hummingbirds too. We have hundreds that visit our feeders in the summer, about 7 varieties. The Rufus is a feisty little bird. I love watching them.
Yoho has some places that are on my bucket list to visit.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Hiking!
