Route Climbed: North Ridge Date Climbed: March 12 2005
Very cool route! Climbed with my freind Matt Long. One should be careful of loose rock on this route. We really didn't encounter much loose rock at all.
Route Climbed: Red Pine Lake Date Climbed: September 27. 2004
Great hike on a beautiful Fall day! Great foilage colors. Summited by myself, but met up with a group ascending the final summit. Saw a huge group of mountain goats too. Great views from the peak. Will definitely do it again.

Route Climbed: Red Pine Date Climbed: 97,98,99,00,01,02,03
This is one of my favorite peaks anywhere. I climb this peak every spring to warm up for mountaineering trips and to practice basic skills. In 01 we heard a loud boom and an avalanche came down right behind us while we were climbing the headwall and that was enough to scare us all. In 2008 I finally made an ascent via Maybird with Matthew VanHorn and it was fantastic. (See trip report)
5/30/09 - With the Wasatch Mountain Club on the Beatout. This was a great day with a good group.
Route Climbed: Red Pine - East Ridge Date Climbed: 1995, 1997, 2000
Great climb, beautiful hike up to Red Pine Lake, then steep, faint track up to ridgeline (and great view back to lakes below). Follow ridge east first on wonderful trail, then short exposed scramble before steep final ascent. Summit view could be best of any Wasatch peak.
May, 2002 - Great day hike on the E Ridge via Red Pine. Hiked from 10 am 'till 3 pm. Celebrated w/ some brewskis with fellow Wasatch Mountain Club hikers. One of my favorite hikes. I've gotta try this peak in the winter. I also have ambitions to do it again as part of the Beatout Ridgerun.
January, 2004 - Great snowshoe on the E Ridge via Red Pine, although I couldn't see much through the thick cloud cover.
March 12 , 2005 (Failed Attempt) - Tried to climb the N Ridge via Maybird with Joe Bullough, Glen Merrill, and Matt Long. Joe and I bailed on the route just beyond the fixed line traverse after it was apparent that we were moving too slowly and it was getting late.
December 28, 2009 (Failed Attempt) - Skinned up Dry Creek with ambitions to climb the N Ridge via Hogum Fork one day with Randy Covington and then Thunderbolt Ridge with Randy, Matt (Marauders) and Brenton Peterson on another day. Conditions beat the crap out of us, so I summited Chipman Peak as a consolation peak.
Route Climbed: Maybird Gulch to East Ridge Date Climbed: July, 1999
Camped at the head of Maybird Gulch. Scrambled up the talus to the east ridge and followed it to the summit. Very pretty mountain, I hope to try it in winter sometime.

Route Climbed: Red Pine Fork Date Climbed: 1984-86What's not to love about this little beauty? The boulderhopping along the ridge is splendid!
Last time I hiked it, we did Deseret Peak in the Stansbury range on the same day. (My father's crazy idea!)

Route Climbed: Red Pine Canyon Date Climbed: Twice in 2003A fairly busy mountain in the summer. Spring snow climbs are excellent. One of the most varied and enjoyable mountains in Utah.
