The Spanish team have said “We have now reached the base camp! The site is brutal, but it's a privilege to be the only expedition at the foot of Everest.”

Mount Everest Climb at Camp 1

The Winter Mount Everest expedition spent the night at 5870 meters and have now climbed to 6050 meters to build Camp 1.

Evacuated off Mount Everest

One of the two Spanish climbers, who were attempting to climb the world highest peak, was evacuated to Kathmandu after he complained lung inflammation.

Mount Everest to be Remeasured

Indian surveyors plan to send a team to Nepal in a couple of months to “remeasure” the height of Mount Everest in collaboration with the Nepali authorities and assess if the 2015 Nepal earthquake altered it.

Everest Winter Climb Latest

Alex Txikon and the Sherpa team have fixed a route up to 7800m. They are now resting at Base Camp waiting for a weather window.

Strong winds are due the next few days on Mount Everest so the plan is to return to Base Camp and wait for better weather.

Everest Winter Climb Update

The team reaches Camp 4 on Mount Everest. They drop of some gear and head back down to safety. The next time up will be their summit attack.
