My colleague and friend Konrad Mierendorff died on Saturday August 7th 2021 after a fall on the Wasenhorn, Switzerland. Konrad was a gifted Economist, both as a researcher and a teacher. He loved the mountains and was on his own journey into Alpine climbing. Never someone to rashly take risk, to act without considering and preparing, I knew him as always kind and considerate. We talked about hiking and climbing occasionally, but talk about work ...

A total of 7,634 ascents of my stairs at home during all the UK Lockdowns etc. So, to make sure, I've had to go back to Everest from Olympus Mons that I am currently climbing, to add one more stair ascent to make sure I can ...
https://www.facebook.com/alpinistagarranzo/ -- Colin Haley announces he is retiring - problems on K6 in Pakistan. ′′ After 3 weeks of acclimation, a point on an expedition where you're often ′′ safe ", my insides were invaded by an army of hostile bacteria. Spent a week expelling diarrhea from an incredibly dark green, the first three days I was extremely feverish and weak. Unfortunately, this all started when I was 5200 m ...
This weekend there was a fatality at Granite as well as a couple of rescues. The death was of an experienced climber from Idaho. Apparently he was struck by a Volkswagen sized boulder on his way down the mountain. RIP.
