Rare Adirondack avalanche catches two backcountry skiers

Two backcountry skiers were caught in an avalanche on Wright Peak over the weekend, a rarity in the Adirondacks. They were on the same slide path that avalanched in 2000. Earthquake on Aconcagua

Here is the report from the Alpine Ascents crew on Aconcagua. According to their schedule they would have been at camp 3, at the base of the glacier. They must have been absolutely freaked out. I did this trip with them last year.
