Akron area resident is found in Baxter Park after going missing Friday night. Searchers looked for him 3 days and using a helicopter found him on Monday. His knee was messed up and he had lots of bug bites. This was the largest search in Baxter Park for the last 40 years.

We've got a potential camper around the house, about 2-1/2 years old. I've been looking at bags for her to try out in our back yard and maybe someday summer nights in the Sierra. We're in the SF Bay area, so I'm less concerned with temperature than I am the basic shape. I started out with ye olde Coleman rectangular.

What happens to the Summit Climbing Logs that you find in a neat little tube on the summit of some mountains? Who maintains them? Does anyone ever archive them? I had someone ask me this - wondering if they could access their entry from 1976 ... it seemed like a crazy question, but then, who knows. Anyone know what becomes of those little log books found in the hard tubes chained to the summits?

Took my boys out for some cragging today and found that my twin boys have waaay outgrown last year's shoes. They are Mad Rock Mad Monkeys, in very good condition with only one season on them.
