Image posting error: insert_column_data() failed: DB Error:

Hello,

We're getting that error again where an image takes forever to load, then the error reads

insert_column_data() failed: DB Error: no database selected

(URL still reads: http://www.summitpost.org/edit_object.php)

and the image is represented by a "red x of death." Looking at the newest images on SP, it appears my issue is not isolated.

Let me know if you need additional trouble-shooting info.

Thanks,

Sarah

Stangeness with photo appearance/disappearance

Not a big issue but I'm curious to know why a particular photo appears on a page at night but shows up as an x during the day??? Photo in question is #612214 on page #612206, "Some thoughts on early season travel". Seems quite bizzare to me??
Thanks!!

Adopting my pages

My activity on SP is almost nil these days. SP has changed (for the better for most, not for me - I would say it got a bit too diluted), and has less appeal to me as it used to. Also, my interests have shifted.
I would like to see my pages being taken over by somebody who can maintain them better:

SOUTH AMERICA:

- Nevado de los Piuquenes: http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/155371/Nevado-de-los-Piuquenes.html
- Cerro San Francisco: http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/154382/Cerro-San-Francisco.html ...

Object possession: Owner or Caretaker?

Anybody know what happened to the Adam's Peak page from Sri Lanka? I can only guess that a disgruntled owner left the site and deleted all his objects. Now all I can find is two route pages with no parent:
http://www.summitpost.org/route/159914/carney-route.html

What is the rationale for letting people destroy their objects as a parting gesture to SP? I consider this is a major flaw of the SP design. This site a great place for people ...

Geomap & few suggestions

The other day, by playing with the Google geomap that appears when clicking on the coordinates of a mountain, I started to play a bit by adding few parameters to the URL, like the author ID, and an idea came to my mind : why not implementing a "geomap" that would be on each profile, in order to identify the "area(s) of action" of every SPer ?
This would be a sympathic way to get ...

Page transfer

The Churfirsten page (http://www.summitpost.org/mountain/rock/153141/churfirsten.html) I would like to take over. It would work better as an area/range page rather than a mountain/rock page. That way, people can add each individual peak as a mountain page (the Churfirsten is a group of 7 separate peaks). I'm going to tag at least a few of them this summer.

Oh, and the owner of said page hasn't been on Sp for quite a while. I sent him an ...

Separating FS from the Gear page

Hi, not sure if this has been covered before, but wouldn't it be great if the FS stuff had its own page outside of the Gear page. That would mean that the gear page would be more relevant to the topic than mixing it up with people wanting to arrange a deal. Just a thought. Cheers,
