When posting a comment on a photo it would not let me and would say for the whole screen:
Code: Select all
insert_discussion() failed: DB Error: syntax error

:( I know summitpost did not have this many bugs a few years ago. Is it the new updates? I like the new features, but they seem to be taking there toll.

Matt, chat keeps popping up every time I navigate to a new page, making me disable it over and over.

Nah, I think that it's not a problem of the site's cookies. I cleared them and I still have nobody in the chat. I don't know if the problem is because of the using browser but I have the same problem from saturday. Any thoughts :?:

Diego, I had to clear the cache from my browser itself using Tools, and then things were okay again.

Bob, though sometimes the number in brackets next to Chat is zero the users appear if I do "click" on Chat. I could try clearing my cache anyway. Is that the problem :?:

I can't seem to post in Firefox. Everytime I click 'Start Topic' or 'Reply' I get redirected to my user profile page.

Sorry, but I got some new weirdness here.
As of Monday, when I try to access SP from my work computer, I can't. I get something that looks like this:

SummitPost.org : Hiking, Climbing and Mountaineering

With a bunch of ads in between

And this at the bottom of the page

Thanks for visiting SummitPost for all of your hiking, climbing and mountaineering information

When I type in the URL it changes from summitpost.org to summitpost.org/thanks for visiting summitpost........
Had my IT person at work look at it and she hadn't a clue. Tried coming from a different direction like Google with the same result.

Any thoughts???

Your ip is blocked! Trust me on that one, unless it's a summitpost error that makes it think your blocked. But that's the page that displays when your banned.

Today I noticed that when I click on a Plans & Partners listing it just shows a blank page. Doesn't seem to matter if it's my listing or anyone else's.
Taaaake !

I don't know, i posted that before but never got an answer.
For me the site looks kinda funny. Much much less uploads (in good old days it used to be like 10 - 12 pages of new photos every day! Now hardly gets to 4 or 5 pages), people don't vote as they used to, and the site keeps getting offline for me every day at least one time for about 10 to 15 minutes. It just happened and got back online about 5 minutes ago.
Is it normal?

PAROFES, I have noticed it too (people voting less). In fact I vote less myself. The site has been running slower lately and as a result people spend less time browsing around looking at others' contributions (or they spend the same amount of time and get less browsing done). It has been brought up before.

Awesome, now voting only takes 5 seconds. Actually sometimes it's 3 seconds, but that's an improvement. I was getting terrible lag earlier today, I figured there was some testing going on. I hope it stays at least this quality.
