The Canaries now have good coverage thanks to you and a few others. Except for Teide, these mountains are unknown to most of us in North America or other areas.

Thanks Lee. Yes, the holiday was goo though we had lots of bad weather. You won't see any bad weather photos here on SP though, since I didn't take any ;-)

Thanks wildstar. The "areal shot" actually is a space shuttle photo linked from wikipedia. But it gives you a pretty good impression about the Caldera de Taburiente Crater.
Cinder cone climbing is one of my least favorite addictions. You made a good page out of this one, though!

Thanks Don. Cinder (I learned a new word - actually it's a literal translation from what we use - I just thought it was typical German) is terrible to scramble up. But I love to surf it down again :-) We were lucky (!!) on the ascent that the ground was so wet due to the heavy rains. It was pretty solid.
