A short day on a long hike
While hiking the long distance trail El Bastón, I started that day at Pico de la Cruz early afternoon, because the weather wasn't too good earlier on. The wind had died down, but all morning it was drizzling and very foggy. And what's the point of hiking the crater rim if there are no views?
I hiked along the rim, over Pico de la Nieve and beyond, to the refuge at Punta de los Roques.
Every now and then, the clouds in the crater opened up a bit and then the views were great!

Caldera de Taburiente
The part of the two days hike of The Great Caldera Circuit. Amazing walk over the highest mountains of La Palma Island.
Route Climbed: From LP-22 Date Climbed: March 1st. 2005
An early start ensure a lonely 90min climb towards Pico de la Nieve and the Ruta de la Cresteria. We first passed the summit on our quest to reach Roque de los Muchachos but had to return because of icy slopes. During our return climbed the summit though clouds and fog prevented any views.
