FearlessHe/she was rustling our campsite during the night. In the a.m., the marten was pretty fearless, trying to get at the bits of food left behind during the night. I had never seen one -- cool looking animal.

One tore into my pack......in the Adirondacks in 1974. My pack was hanging high from the rafter of the slant rock lean-to (long since demolished), and every time that I heard him. I would throw rocks. But he knew when I had dozed off, and would start again. Cute fella. He never got any food, and I just sewed up the small tear. It was a surreal night.
