I've only ever seen the tail end of a pine marten in the Adirondacks.

He/she was rustling our campsite during the night. In the a.m., the marten was pretty fearless, trying to get at the bits of food left behind during the night. I had never seen one -- cool looking animal.

Re: The cutest....

Well they have to eat Bob and just cuz they is cute doesnt mean anyone is feeding them on a regular basis.

They must remain relentless for their dinner.

One tore into my pack... the Adirondacks in 1974. My pack was hanging high from the rafter of the slant rock lean-to (long since demolished), and every time that I heard him. I would throw rocks. But he knew when I had dozed off, and would start again. Cute fella. He never got any food, and I just sewed up the small tear. It was a surreal night.

I simply can't stop staring at how damn cute this little guy is! AND knowing, like Delta said, he's a good, efficient killer.
Great shot!
