Parked about 7.9 miles from the forest visitor center and headed up the firebreak I saw on Google Earth. A little more than a mile to the ridge and 1100 feet elevation gain. Lots of gnats for some reason.

From YMCA Camp
Walked through YMCA camp (few cars there but wasn't stopped) up the dry creek bed trail to the service road and up to summit. Almost gave up on looking for register but found it!

Via Firebreak
Nice warm up for my Waterman-Twin hike. The route gains over 900' in just over half a mile. The views are really nice to the north on the way up and down, but the summit is covered with trees.

Drive Up
Sort of hard to find the register, but it's there.

Northern Approach
Straight up ridge just west of camp, definitely recommended route. Missed the can and walked a half-mile down fireroad looking for the highpoint. Found the register on my way back. Did Gobbler's and Circle as well.
After a long day working outdoors in the Inland Valley I was determined to hike. My friend Janel and headed out and hiked the old trail from the NE. A very beautiful ridge to watch the sunset over the Mojave.

But just barely. Almost gave up as I got well off-route. I was tired. Trip Report

After Baden Powell
Drove to the top after Baden Powell earlier in the day. Maybe, just maybe, a 200' horizontal distance hike from the road. Pretty pathetic from that approach.

Warm-up
2nd warm-up, after Circle Mtn, prior to doing the Baden Powell to Ross Mtn to Baden Powell hike. Took less than an hour round trip from the northern approach -- summit cairn is not so obvious. And who was the idiot who wrote this mountain page -- the views aren't that good.
