poetic paintbrush

Getting close to nature often requires a prone position, a macro lens, soft diffused light, and patience in exploring the wonderful, out of focus, textures that can be found by creating a "poetic" flower image, rather than merely just a seed catalogue shot. In this photo the lupine serves as a great out of focus background to showcase the paintbrush, with the wild oats adding diagonal interest. May 2009
