I did a counterclockwise loop involving the Laurel Run Trail, North Mountain Trail and Stack Rocks Trail. But I bushwhacked to climb Devils Benchmark along the way. Thanks for the information!
The bushwhack was tough! The vegetation is very dense there. I made it easier by walking east along 691 first. When I reached the yellow/orange trail junction I could see how thick it was over there, so I decided to stay on the road till I felt I was very close to the summit. So I probably approached it from the southeast. I fought my way up to the general summit area and eventually found some interesting rocks and a marker. I was dirty from head to toe and drenched in sweat, with bugs biting me. If I ever do it again I'll do it in winter.
