Point 6360+

Point 6360+

This is a view of one of the two Diamond Peak possibilities for the Garfield County WA highpoint as seen from the other Diamond Peak highpoint. The view is of Point 6360+ which is a fairly flat open area on a mini-knoll. The picture is taken from the named Diamond Peak 6379. To the naked eye it is unclear which is higher although on this day I was leaning towards 6360+. Note that point 6360+ could conceivably be the HP of the Blue Mtns as well as possibly a 2000 ft prominence peak and a county greatest prominent peak. If it has an elevation greater than Oregon Butte's 6387 spot elevation then it would qualify for all of those titles. If not then Oregon Butte retains the range HP and prominence peak status and Peak 5135 remains the Garfield County Greatest Prominent Point. Note that it is not raining and the sky appears to be some sort of blue rather than gray cloudcover. This is a sure give away that this is the dry Eastern side of the state a long ways from Seattle.
