Perched atop Porpoise Rock looking down slope to the Kettle River approximately 800’ below. The gneissic rock offers clean, solid surfaces with numerous and variable routes. Besides the rattlesnakes I warned of in the first posting, there are bighorn sheep, golden and bald eagles, whitetail deer, and redtailed hawk just to name a few of the wildlife species to be found here. One of the delights of summer day climbing here is a refreshing dip in the river later in the afternoon.
