Have been to Canyon de chellynever saw this beautiful formation. We must have had a bad tour guide.
Love the way you are showing a little bit of the ground.
Great photo.

View from the top is even betterGot really lucky taking a side trip up to the top last spring. Heard the park service was trying to stop ascents to window rock a few year ago. from the ledge you get a cool perspective of the canyon and ruins on the opposite canyon wall.

Re: View from the top is even betterWe hiked up to the window, but my photos from the window weren't as pleasant as my photos of the river.
Happy climbing,
Sarah

Re: niceThanks for the comment. It was a fantastic day in the desert. Mother Nature did the hard work. I just clicked the shutter on my camera.

Re: What a window! Thanks, Aranka. This canyon is so beautiful you could pretty much just aim & shoot and capture an amazing image.
Safe climbing / paddling!

Re: Fantastic!Eric,
If you have not yet visited the Desert Southwest of the USA, I highly encourage you to do so. It is a vast, rugged, almost magical place.

Re: Fantastic! One of these days I've got to come over - the more of these incredible photos I see from you and many of the other American members of SP ( for instance, it's through SummitPost that I've learned about this absolutely unbelievable place called Cathedral Valley!), the more I feel the urge to see it with my own eyes!
