Potomac River View South of Aqueduct

Great Falls October 2, 2010 A view of the Potomac River from near the towpath looking south from the Washington Aqueduct showing quite a bit of the mud and debris from the recent rains. Hikers, bikers, walkers, all enjoy the Billy Goat Trail and other hikes in this area along the towpath of the historic Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, completed in 1850 after 22 years of work and mishap, and operated for 73 years between Georgetown and Cumberland, MD.
