Pronghorn

Pronghorn

On a rest day, Rick and I drove over to Ten Sleep Canyon. I had driven through it a year before and I wanted to get some photos this time. On our way back to Devil's Tower Lodge we spotted this fellow along the highway near Moorecroft, WY. He stood like this for a minute or so checking me out as I photographed him, and then just wandered away like he didn't have a care in the world. Sept. 2003

We have several

large herds of pronghorn in central Arizona.

I noticed that they are "hyper" critters, and
rarely stand still - YOU were very fortunate!!

Re: We have several

This is the only one I have ever seen.
It was really neet to be so close and to not have him run away. I felt like I was in Africa. They are very beauiful animals for sure. We have a lot of whitetail here in KY that are Much Smaller that what I have seen out west, but other than a few elk in the southeast not much else as far as big game goes.
