Puy Mary and Puy de Peyre Arse seen from Puy de Chavaroche. The north face of Puy Mary (left) according to the guidebooks often carries an eagle-shaped snowfield that persists from winter to winter (and thus might become the beginning of a small glacier), but it wasn't present in October 2001.
