Schott's Pygmy Cedar (Peucephyllum schottii) on route to Boulder Peak in Lake Mead Area, Nevada. January 2008. This shrub is sometimes also called Desert Fir and it belongs to the Sunflower (Asteraceae) Family. It blooms from December to May. The flowers are yellow.
