Three Day Trip

Picked up Trevor (my 10 year old son) from school on Friday afternoon and we were hiking up Lyons Creek trail by 3:30. Made it to Lake Sylvia by dark (about 6:30pm), setup camp, and crashed out. Next morning we were heading directly up the scree field east of Sylvia by 9:30 and summited Pyramid by 11:30am.

Decided to head down the north ridge of Pyramid towards Agassiz (peak 9967, 1/2 mi SE of Price). Had to do some Class 4 scrambling to pass the thumb on the ridge just north of Pyramid. Exciting! Then we dropped down NW into the bowl staying north and east of the two tarns in that basin. Continued NW up to scramble between the summit blocks of Agassiz at about 2:45pm. Headed from there to Price and bypassed wreckage from an old plane wreck only about 40' below the ridge.

Made it Price at 3:45pm, then headed back to Sylvia via the Lyon's Creek drainage. Back to camp at 6pm. Great weather, great conditions, and no bugs or crowds!
