Been having this soulsearching conversation quite a bit lately...I think it's not the search for the best climb/crag/route but an ongoing search for "newness" that seems to excite lately. Anyway, found this old book somewhere that talks about long, grantie (?) multipitch lines in the eastern provinces. Looks excellent (don't remember the names of place though). Have not been terribly active here lately but you've added some great photos. cheers, radek

I get it. well this area - Grands Jardins is pretty cool because there's one old shabby guidebook and almost no route info. it's kinda like adventure climbing, but with 20min approaches. the routes are listed, but other than telling you it's 250m long with bolted belays, you figure out the rest. it is granite too. beautiful area, though. a few hours north and you're in the Saguenay Fjord (Cap Trinite). I was working on the pages for SP but no time, and probably not worth it either. there is some minimal info on MP, but more will be added. have lots of pics. I hear you on the SP activity too... life goes on eh? any holiday plans? take care.

Nothing special holiday-wise...check, noaa & be willing to drive which is getting harder with time. hope you'll be getting out during all those long wknds coming up. Do let me know if you can when/if you post up the Jardins stuff. all the best, radek
