Rat Trap Mountain South Ridge at 4200 ft

Martin descending the South Ridge of Rat Trap Mountain at the 4200-ft level.  An old trail crosses the ridge here (Martin is on the trail here).  We don't know where it starts and where it goes.  It probably starts from Rat Trap Pass.  We didn't use the trail.  We went up and down the entire South Ridge from the Crystal Lake Trail.  It was 80% open woods.  Only one cliff band was encountered between 3500 and 3600 ft.  A fortunate ramp and weakness (Class 2+) made it easy to surmount.  4.5 hours round trip from the car.
