Red Campion

Red Campion (Melandrium rubrum) belongs to the Caryophyllaceae Family. In Poland it is common in all mountain ranges. It likes especially the edges of beech-tree forests. Occasionally it can be found also in the mountain meadows. It blooms from April to July. Flowers open only during the day and are pollinated by bees and bumble bees.
