Getting there / trails??

A Summitpost page should not link to another site for this crucial info.

(And if it did, it should provide a link to a page that actually contains that info, not just a phone number to call.)

Re: Getting there / trails??

The Catskill Fire Tower website has all the appropriate info, you just have to click on the photo of the firetower or the link on the left of the page. I didn't want to plagiarize the website. Thanks for your generous concern.

Re: Getting there / trails??

There's no need to plagiarize: you've been there yourself and can describe in your own words how to find the trailhead and a sentence about the length and difficulty of the trail.
Summitpost pages simply aren't complete without a description of at least one route up the mountain. (Exception: mountains that have never been climbed.) If you think somebody else's description is better than you can manage, you can also link to them. The direct link to the trailhead directions is:
http://www.catskillcenter.org/towers/reddirect.html
(I didn't find it before because I have no chance of telling the fire towers apart by their photos)

Re: Getting there / trails??

Thanx nartreb I hadn't put the right URL directly to the proper page, constructive ctiticism is essential on a site like this. Thanx again.

Re: Getting there / trails??

The trail head can be a mess to find, ive herd Google gives you directions to a road that is not a road, i relied on the Appalachian mountain head trail book for the directions to the trail, they were fairly dead on with the directions, this being said double check your map befor trying to go to red or you may get lost on back roads
