Long undulating ridge to Hoosier Ridge, and then Red Peak and Red Mountain. Windy and still tons of snow.
LONG traverse...11.4 miles & 3,500 feet
4/1/06 - Can't beat starting high on Hoosier Pass when there's a bunch of snow below treeline. Also climbed Hoosier Ridge and Red Peak.
3/14/15 - Went back for a winter ascent via Hoosier Pass. Forgot how neverending and undulating Hoosier Ridge is. Blah. Sucks that I just missed calendar winter on my first trip and had to return. Climbed Hoosier Ridge and Red Peak too.
No wind! Finally i hike this mountain on this not fan and long ridge, turn out to be nice day above treeline.
Windy day with Sarah & Deb.
The scenery? Fantastic. The ridge? Freaking interminable. The day started out calm, but those trusty winds reared their heads making the going more challenging. Definitely a roller coaster of a route! With Kiefer Thomas and ShredDeb.
Okie and I got all 3 from Hoosier Pass. Left snowshoes near Pt 12,814 for the return. When I got back to my stash, they were gone.
It was not very enjoyable hike, like a rollercoaster but the views of Tenmile/Mosquitos and Front Ranges are amazing. Wow, only three people signed this log!
A wonderful hike of this, Madonna Dome, Red Peak and Hoosier Ridge with the dog and wife. I agree with chicagotransplant that it has the best views of Quandary.
Winter ascent via Hoosier Ridge and Red Peak A.
