Evening-primrose

Lisa its an evening primrose. I can't say what species it is for certain, but its in the genus Oenothera of the Onagraceae family. The other photo you ask about in this group appears to be the same thing only its old and the flowers are droopy or perhaps closing up for the day. These things open at night.

Re: Evening-primrose

Thanks for the help! It is interesting that the other flower is the same; the coloration was different - pink versus. Also, they were growing in different locations. So, I didn't recognize they were related. I do remember a debate about the other flowers; ie if they were old or closed up due to the heat of they day.
