Red Slate as seen from slopes...

Red Slate as seen from slopes of Laurel Mountain. The
approach goes up Convict Canyon (the trail loosely
follows the stream). Eventually the trail ends after 6
miles or so and cross country travel (mostly nice grass
in the valley) ensues.
