5 hours both peaks round trip. lost my gps but didn't get lost. August 06.
Many moons ago.
Kinda cloudy and windy. Did Sunshine too.
Fourth of 14 14ers in 11 days. Nice hike with a lot of avalanche debris in the lower Silver Creek drainage.
From the Silver Creek Trailhead. Good trail, good scenery, good weather, good times. My very first San Juan summit, hooray!
Very colorful hike. I was one of the first ones on the trail, so I didn't have to deal with the cloud untill later. Met a guy grilling a steak on top of the mountain. Wild stuff.
Third time climbing Redcloud. Also did Sunshine. Previous Silver Creek climb on Sep 1, 1996.
Camped in the valley. Nice easy climb up a nice looking mountain.
Hard hike the day after the San Juan Solstice.
A peaceful hike up the standard route with solid snow in the morning. Headed to Sunshine.
Beautiful day! Forecast was for clouds and some snow (which we were hoping for)...we had nothing but sunshine all day.
I climbed Sunshine first via the east ridge from Mill Creek, then returned the same way.
done it twice now, and stormed off the traverse once
Hiked up Redcloud and then headed to Sunshine.
Started up at 6:46AM and reached the summit at 9:38, then headed over to Sunshine Peak at 9:55 to Sunshine and back by noon, back to the TH at 2:15. Another awesome day in the San Juans; my 33rd 14'er twice........sweet!!
First trip to the San Juans. 5.5 hour round trip. Extremely windy on the ridge and weather was unstable from start of hike.
Thanks to my dog giving me a minor assist up some of the steeper stuff, we made a very fast ascent. Great views and lots of fun getting two for one with Sunshine as well.
I loved these two peaks. Silver Creek really did look like it had flakes of silver in it. A nice trail, easy to the top!
Started at 5:00 am and was on the summit by 8:15. Not too bad for two flatlanders. Did the ridge to Sunshine and descended the northwest slope. Nice 10-mile day.
