Re: Great! Thanks a lot! Yup...it was a great ride! But what I didn't know at the time was that the snow got so mushy while we were climbing that on the way down we kept sinking to our hips and this turned a 6 hour climb into 9 hours. But...still wheeeee!

Hello Sylva ...Slight change in topic ...
Are the Canadians still upset over the
outcome of the hockey game with the Boston
Bruins ???
Sorry, just wondering what the atmosphere
was like up north in Maple Leaf country.
Now, I'll get back to listening to Geddy,
Alex and Neil ... THANKS ..

Re: Hello Sylva ...Our tears have almost dried :-( but we're good now. Actually, the bigger news was that the streets got thrashed after the loss...can you believe it, polite Canadians!...but now they're busy prosecuting all the hooligans because they all got caught on peoples cameras :-)

Nice!Always good to see some decent exposure. One question, I cannot seem to find a page on Piz D'Arlas on summitpost and I'am going to Bernina/Bergell in 5 weeks time. Can you tell me where this peak is, which mountain hut and which village/parking?
Cheers,
Berthold

Re: Nice!Hi Berthold..no, the mountain is not on SP but if you look up the information for Piz Palu, this mountain is very close to it. It is climbed from a hut named Diavolezza, which is for sure the most fancy hut I ever stayed in! A lift takes you directly to the hut and there is a big parking lot at the bottom of the lift where it's fine to leave your car. (Take all your water with you to the hut, they charge 10 Swiss Francs for a bottle!) When you are at the hut looking at the panorama, you will see Piz Palu straight in front and to the left is Piz Trovat (also a great climb, but short...good for the first day you arrive) and futher to the left, behind Piz Trovat is Piz D'Arlas. Hope this helps and if you need any more info let me know....have a great time...I wish I was going!!!
