Fantastic
This has to be one of the best hikes in the lower 48 and a must do for any outdoor enthusiast. We did it will full packs in two days and the last few miles to the South rim were just HELL!! It was hot and steep, but well worth all of the effort.
*Returned April 28 2018 and completed R2R2R. Starting at SK to NK and out BA. Incredible day.

avoid summer; both ways
First time, it was 114F in the lower canyon. 2nd time (Oct 2007), I got terrible food poisoning after the S2N crossing.
