Thank you, Mark. Big Bend in April is spectacular for wildflowers. These weren't easy to get to, but I'm glad I did.

beautiful

Beautiful, but this is the dreaded mala mujer. I encountered these at night blacklighting for scorpions in Canon de Huasteca near Monterey, Mexico. The pain can be unbearable!

I was wondering if you might have a link for the ID of the flower. When did a search for the mala mujer, all I got was a white desert wildflower that didn't resemble this one much at all. The rock nettle ID is based on a photo from an NPS guide.
