Thanks Britt. The problem with your wishes is that next Wed there's going to be my birthday - and nobody will be here. Lots of phone calls of course. I'll try to do my best to have a good week, though!
I wish you a very Happy Birthday Gangolf! I hope you get a cake and have lots of fun on your birthday! Ignore those phone calls and go out to have fun just for one day of the year. I hope you have a wonderful birthday and I'd like to say thankyou along with many other people here on sp for all your contributions and help. You've done a more than superb and amazing job! Happy birthday and keep up the good work my friend!

Hey, thanks Britt! I guess I'll stay for those phone calls, anyway. Haven't talked to my sister in months :-(
Like Herðubreið the Roques seem to be in a desert area. I guess you can swim in the sea which is quite a bit different from Iceland. Good color and the crag views are nice. Have a good autumn.

Thanks Mark! It was in fact one of Brian's pages that reminded me of the two I had hidden in my closet. I think one of the reasons these areas are so dry is that the volcanic gravel just sucks up any moisture. On Tenrife in addition the clouds usually don't get that far up.
And yes, you can swim on the island - but in two weeks I didn't get to do it! Too much else to do.
The interesting fact, however, is that you can climb all 3718m to Teide's summit, from sea level on. Would be a nice endurance test.....

Not another one! This one almost fell off the What's New page but I caught it. Nice try, Gangolf. I'll have one for you in a few hours (Austera Peak). You can peruse away at it tomorrow morning while you should be working.
Thanks Paul! You see - I have to work ahead. From Sept 4th on I'll be away for three weeks doing the real thing! But no SP :-( Perhaps I can kick that habit (just a little)...
