Royal Gorge - Colorado

From canyon edge to mountains beyond Royal Gorge in the forefront; Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the background The actual gorge width is deceptive here; it is generally 500 feet across and about 1,000 feet deep. Royal Gorge Bridge was built in 1929 and is listed on the National Historic Register It is still the highest suspension bridge in the world.
