Was fortunate enough to have been introduced to this range at a young age, and after a long spell of passing it up in favor of more exotic hiking spots, the lure of SummitPost has drawn me back to bag 'em all...
Be careful what you wish for! It would be a shame for more trails and peaks to end up like the Bridge to Nowhere and Baldy...
Although I enjoy the solitude very much, it's a shame that more people do not take advantage of this great wilderness in our backyard!
Windy Point, Potato Mountain, Sunset Peak, Lookout Mountain, Peak 5696, Mt. Baldy, Mt. Harwood , Cucamonga Peak, West Baldy, Timber Mountain and Bighorn Peak so far. A few more to go.
Great weather on a day hike that included Baldy and Harwood. Nice views all around, except for the LA area covered in a nasty layer of smog.
So far I've climbed Waterman, Baden Bowell, Echo, and portions of Hawkins and Williamson. This summer I hope to add many more, including San Gabriel, the rest of Williamson, Baldy, and Cucamonga.
I love these mountains. At first when I moved here, I missed the Sierras. Once I discovered the San Gabriels, I was so happy.. I have begun to become acquainted with their unique character.
Multiple times to Mt. San Antonio, Telegraph Peak, Cucamonga Peak, Thunder Mtn., and little Potato Mountain.
2014 added- Mount Baden-Powell.
West Baldy, San Antonio, Harwood, Bighorn, Ontario, Cucamonga, Baden-Powell, Burnham, Throop, Hawkins, Middle Hawkins, Islip, Akawie, Winston, Lewis, Twin Peaks, Waterman.
I've run, mountain biked and hiked this range for years and years.
I work and play in the San Gabriel Mountains - summitted Mt. Baldy in October 2009 and Baden-Powell in June 2013
Many, many hiking trips throughout the San Gabs. Love to be there.
Many trips in the East San Gabriels in 2010!
