Second time doing this hike and it's one of my favorites. Great summit! Good alt gain at the start, then it levels off to let you catch your breath, and then a good gain at then end to challenge you a bit. This route is a little annoying because once you merge with the Tram Trail it gets a lot busier.

From Snow Creek via PCT
Completed what has to the hardest on-trail approach to San J: from Snow Creek below the northern face, following the PCT for some 20+ miles, then up Deer Springs trail (over snow and postholing) to the summit, down to the tram. 30 miles, 10,400' gain. Harder than C2C.

From Palm Springs via C2C
Started with just Skyline in mind, but made good time and felt great, so continued with full C2C. Ran into snow from Round Valley and postholed to above Wellman Divide, where we intercepted the regular trail and followed it to the top.

From Long Valley via Sid Davis Winter Route
Last snowshoeing outing of the season was absolutely fabulous in the wake of a departing storm. Went straight up via Sid Davis winter route to the Miller Saddle, then to summit.

From Long Valley
Regular trail covered in ice from Wellman Divide, but distinguishable. Almost got blown off the top by 60+ mph winds. Upon returning to tram, found out it was closed and we were stranded on the mountain. Spent night in mule shed next to ranger station.

From Palm Springs via C2C
My first C2C was a complete success: perfect weather, strong group, 100% summit rate (17 of 17 made it).

Rode the Palm Springs tram up and climbed the 5 miles to the summit. Second time and best time! Great day and good miles, beer after at the tram station bar was delicious!!!

San Jacinto
Nice hike with San Jacinto, Cornell and Miller Peak. Decided on leisurely hike this time versus joining CAB to do 7 peaks.

Solo Hike
Rode up the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway ~8500 to start. Then you have about 2200 more feet to climb spread out over 5.5 miles. You have to check into the rangers station to get a permit. I was late in getting started because of business meetings in the morning and didn't start climbing until 3 pm. I had to really hustle up to summit and start my descent before the sun set. Coming back down I was treated to a wonderful sunset. It was a great hike 11 miles in all I would certainly recommend it.

First ascent, training for Whitney. Blown away by the views from summit.

Devil's Slide Trail
Left Humbert Park at 4:30am and was at the summit at 8:30am. There was 1/2" of new snow covering the trail from top to bottom. Under the new snow, all the protected parts of trail had a lot of mixed ice, packed snow and deeper snow up to about 3 feet. At least half the trail was snowy/icy. I was glad to have my ice ax and carried it much of the time, but trekking poles would have been fine too. I fell on the ice a bunch of times anyway. Made it back to the car at 11:30. I figure I spent an hour dealing with the snow and getting off trail in the dark etc.

Up/down Marion Mountain trail as I was sick of evaluating weather forecasts waiting to get out in the backcountry on my splitboard. Winter can start anytime now...
