Both Teats were conquered on the way to a long-ish loop via Carson, PCT, and Agnew Meadow. Trip report
Nice walk, with great views of the Minarets. Cold and windy. No register
A little hot but beautiful hike with my dog Hunter.
Shorter distance but 2,000' more el. from June Lakes Loop
A nice dayhike with those great views almost the entire route. Went on over to Carson Peak & more great views.
Dayhiked from Silver Lake. Outstanding views.
My wife and I got a break from the smoke, sort of, and hiked up San Joaquin from the Minaret Summit parking lot. Excellent views of the Ansel Adams Wilderness. We also bagged the lower "teet", which had one move that was probably like class 4. The hike to the teet took us about ~4 hours with breaks, the hike up to the summit of San Joaquin took another 15 minutes.
Date is something of a guess. I was working on a drill rig in the Mammoth area, and did this hike on my day off. I had seen the mountain on various hikes up the SW side of June Lake, and was almost tempted to go from the lake.
Nice halfdayhike with excellent views the whole way.
Fun dayhike on Memorial Day weekend. Had a couple of fun glissades.
Did a ridge traverse from Agnew Pass starting with Carson Peak then on to San Joaquin Mt and finally Two Teats. Great views from each peak of the Ritter Range and the Sierra Crest from Rodgers to the Koip Peak area.
Warm-up for Sierra Challenge 2005. (Happy Birthday, Mom!) Sadly, the classic Sierra Club register box exists no more. It apparently disappeared within the last 2 weeks. I shake my head in frustration as these boxes become more and more rare.
Summitted in wind and cold. Rode from June Mountain and then snow shoed up. The ride down had NICE snow and was extremely memerable. Fun and convenient.
Warmup for a Goddard dayhike the next day. Went up via Fern Lake, returning via Yost Lake. To my surprise, this approach actually took longer than the hike from Minaret Summit. Yost Meadow was pretty and worth seeing, but apart from that I'd recommend Minaret Summit as the way to go.
An enjoyable dayhike with many small ups and downs. Great views of the Minarets, Ritter, and Banner. 4 hours 40 minutes car to car.
This was a very enjoyable outing with two siblings, the first peak of note for my youngest sister. Trip Report
