Re: StrangeIt actually worked out ok on Erciyes, but sandals were no good idea for the days in the blizzard in the Lebanese mountains.

Dress-codeWhite socks and sandals?? Have you idea of international dress-code? Only German tourists on Mallorca wear that! ;-)

Re: Dress-code:-)))
I know, it's horrible. I usually don't wear the combination of sandals and socks, but that time I thought I should equip myself to the max.

Re: I am impressed:)
It was OK for the climb of Erciyes, but when caught in the blizzard in Lebanon it wasn´t. Frostbite and close to amputations :(

Re: I am impressedOuch...are your toes ok now? sometimes severe frostbite makes you more susceptible to cold....

Re: I am impressedThey are OK now, but it took some time for the damaged parts of my feet to come back to normal. For years I had itching, burning and other weird sensations when cold. Also, some sort of cold sweat appeared as soon as the feet got cold. At other times I felt a lot of pain in the affected areas of the feet when the temperature fell. I´m glad I got out of it as good as I did.
