Re: beautiful colors!

This is a collard lizard in the Colorado National Monument. We saw several of them on our hike, but this is the only one that let us take a close up. He seemed to smile for the camera! :o)

I've never seen one this colorful. Great image! BTW: We call them Mountain Boomers here in Oklahoma. --mark d.

Re: I've Never Seen One ...

I have lived in Colorado for years, and didn't know we had such a critter here, until last spring. That day we saw at least a dozen. They are beautiful creatures.

Smile !

This is a great image of a Western Collared
Lizard. I gave it vote #50! Yes, its a member
of the Iguana Family. This looks like a female. GREAT! They must have extended their
range ... into western Colorado!!!

Re: Smile !

Before this hike, I didn't know that we had any such creature in Colorado either. My husband says that he has seen them before. We saw many of them this particular day hiking through the Colorado National Monument.

Re: Amazing blue!

Yes, he/she is very beautiful and bright colored. I didn't even realize we had such creatures in Colorado until a few years ago.

Blessings!

Re: Grateful

Thank you!

Yes, as said on your profile, "so many places, so little time."

We live in a beautiful country and a beautiful world. I never get bored seeing the beauty around me.... even if on my way to or from work. It is also wonderful to have a site such as SP to enjoy the sights that others see.

Blessings!
