such fond memories from this route we have! We actually tried like one or two times for this one but the pillar kept being in the thick & threatening clouds...finally we caught a nice clear day. Such a proud looking line. Great TR & awesome photos Michael! Thanks for the note, "You could also climb a white crack/dihedral on the right. Radek and Shirley went that way on their climb last year." :) ....I went to the dihedral as I wasn't sure about pro on the face directly above (chickenshit :)
Yep, on that face pitch, I think Dan found a tri-cam pocket and another pocket for a Camelot. At the crux move a piton, and I guess that's it. I think it's cool to have climbed that crack though. In 30 years or so when I climb it again I'll go that way :D.
Oh man, thanks for the correction, fixed it. It is such a beautiful mountain, huh? So far I've climbed this route, the South Face and the via ferrata Lipella (the one that goes through the tunnels). I know at least three more ways I want to follow...I'll just keep going back :D.
You are welcome...hey, AWESOME job on Gannett Peak, and great story. I've never been there but that wide open high rockies country seems very inviting.
Jealousy, Longing, and Other Mountaineering-Related Feelings
Very enjoyable read. My wife and I also climbed the Comici route on Torre Piccola. I must have done something wrong, though, because it was her first and last roped climb...
The spell checker in my brain, which I cannot turn off, reports the following:
flagrente -> flagrante
Torre Piccolo -> Torre Piccola
Appolonia -> Apollonio
Camelot -> Camalot
and, in case you want the translation of Kleiner Lagazuoi, it's Piccolo Lagazuoi.

I have such a hard time with Italian spelling! Thank you Brenta, I will fix it momentarily! Come visit and we'll work on these tormented feelings by climbing something together :D.
