Scramble Routes on Rainbow

The purple corresponds to the SP route "via Oak Creek;" the Red corresponds to the SP "Juniper Canyon Scramble;" and the blue route goes through Gunsight Notch. The red and blue routes can be linked up for a loop from the Pine Creek or Oak Creek trailheads. There is some awkwardness with nomenclature. The DPS reports, when describing "Rainbow Mountain," usually refer to the higher 6924' summit. However, the USGS name database refers to "Rainbow Mountain" with an elevation of 6810'. Las Vegas locals usually refer to the 6810' summit as "Rainbow Peak," and refer to the 6924' summit as "Rainbow Wall."
